Street Photography

Street photography is a documentary art genre of photography that has been documenting the history of contemporary life in different countries around the world for more than 100 years.  The German Street Photography Festival is a space for artists and the public to appreciate, participate, and celebrate contemporary street photography made in Germany.

Public exhibition

The public exhibition gallery displays contemporary street photos made in Germany.

Public Street Photography Competition

For this competition, photographers can submit their street photos that were captured in Germany. The competition opens soon and it will be judged by an expert jury that will be announced here at the beginning of the competition. For a small participation fee, a set number of images can be submitted to different street categories. The winning images will be displayed in the public gallery during the festival.

German Street Photography Symposium

This year's symposium will be held in German and cover topics regarding contemporary street photography in Germany. Registration for the symposium will open, soon.

Street Photography Slam

Experienced street photographers will host a street photography slam and discuss submitted images in public.

Meet and Greet & Socializing

One of the main purposes of this festival is to create a space in Germany where the growing number of street photographers and street photography interested people can meet, interact, and exchange ideas.

The Festival will take place on June 21. - 23. 2019

at the Goldbekhaus in Hamburg, Germany.

Get there by public transport:

Take Metrobus line 6, 17 or 25 to the bus stop: Goldbekplatz. From there it's about a 150m walk to the Goldbekhaus.


There is also a StadtRAD bike sharing station right at the Goldbekplatz.
